About Us

Building Community Through Creativity

River Arts was founded with the intention of creating a dedicated Arts Center in Guerneville, the only large community in Sonoma County lacking one, and in building and strengthening the newly emerging idea of Guerneville as a creative hub, with creativity as a major defining force in our economy, community and identity.

Working with Supervisor Lynda Hopkins, a concept of a dedicated Arts Center is emerging, with a location already designated, but still far off.

Building towards that, River Arts is undertaking an ambitious program of arts and creativity activities, many of them free and openly available to the general public, many of them encouraging community participation.

And we REALLY can use volunteers to help with many of the projects below—even if you can help out only once or twice a year, it will be of great benefit to us and the community.

River Arts enters the 2026 year with a growing slate of projects and programs. Some of these are below. We are constantly experimenting with new ideas to engage and activate the community.

1. First Saturday ArtWalk
2. Seasonal Downtown Window Art
